A bit early to tell
I looked around for a while to fix my front porch steps and when I found this product I was happy to find it was made in Canada. I bought four pieces and they installed fine. Cutting was easy, although I was nervous because it seemed brittle, but it cut ok. Using a fine-toothed handsaw would definitely cut down the risk of cracking. After installing the first four, I decided to install on the landing area and ordered two more. I was very disappointed to open the package and find one was cracked. The package wasn't damaged, so it looks to me like a quality control issue. Very frustrating! Becau

Expensive but high quality treads
These are very well made and easy to work treads. They are great for the likes of a 2 or 3 tread wooden staircase run down to an internal garage. They offer extremely good foot purchase via the raised fine grade diamond point pattern, which provides exceptional levels of grip without being too harsh on bare feet, be that human or pets. They aren't cost effective for use on bigger staircase runs with more treads, but when glued with a high strength adhesive onto a wooden staircase, provide increased levels of structural rigidy which feels satisfyingly high quality under foot. Recommended.

Look great and provide very safe footing. Almost through the winter and they are holding up very well. Snow brushes right off. Get lots of compliments on these. Very easy to hammer right in the wooden deck stairs. Wish they came in a shorter length for the back stairs.

We live in the Pacific Northwest in a very wet area & the steps get slippery when the weather keeps them wet constantly. Further, stains won't last longer than 2 years on these steps. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. Installation was easy and they fit perfectly over my 4' wide front steps. I've ordered some additional treads for the steps off our rear deck. So far so good. No slipping & the dogs don't mind using them.

Easy to cut an install. These were installed on exterior wood stair treads. We live in upstate NY and have had some snow and some ice since installation. These have worked out very well. I installed using #6 SS screws without adhesive or sealant as these are on treated wood and I plan to remove and reapply stain periodically. Steps are very secure and no problems with temperature variations thus far (15-72F since install).

I was a little skeptical but when I received these i was thoroughly impressed with the quality. they are very ridged and strong. I installed over my old painted wood porch steps and they feel so much safer when i walk on them. they make the whole porch look updated and new too.

Used to protect the steps on our wood deck from the wear and tear of our dogs claws going up and down all day. Affixed by using six 1" lathe pan head screws for each step, placing three on the back and three on the overhanging lip. The steps have a some slight ridge lines molded into the bottom, presumably so water can flow through. It remains to be seen what the long term effects of any residual water retention may have on the wood steps, though I stained the stairs before installing the covers. Only negative is that almost all of the edges of the stairs were damaged in shipping. Instead of r

Very good non slip tread. Have not had I ce and snoe yet but they should be fine. The material they are made of is a hard plastic and I wonder how they do in very cold temperatures or if something heavy were to fall on it will it break or crack? I installed them a few weeks ago in August. So far they are fine.

Thanks to Rahm at Home Depot Bellingham, WA, the ordering process for the ComposiGrip stair treads was smooth and easy. Item not installed yet but matched product description. Grey matched well with present wood stair tread. Pre-drilled holes would help make self installation easier. Grips should provide good traction in snow and icy winter conditions. Will submit photo and give update on performance later in the year when season changes and product is put to real test in Vancouver, BC.

Great grip. Installed on high volume wood steps of my restaurant. Its the best, most durable option for the money I could find. You can use liquid nails or screws. I used self tapping screws and would recommend the screws that are suggested when you add these to your cart.

I have not had enough time to evaluate the wear-ability of this product but am otherwise very satisfied with it. My only reason for not giving it five stars was the fact that when I ordered it I chatted with an online consultant who informed me that it could be cut in a local store but he did not know what the cost would be. I contacted a local store and was told that it could not be cut in-store because it took a special blade. My neighbor cut it for me with a standard wood blade and I used a standard bit to drill holes to mount the treads with screws and everything worked fine. Delivery was

I was in a predicament. We took over a property that had relatively new wood steps going up the back staircase. I searched for something anti-slip and installed many different products to no avail. I did not want to totally replace the wood, so when I found your product that has done exactly what it said it would, I am elated! It solves all the issues we had and looks quite nice also. Thank You!

good quality product
we put this on the front porch to protect the front of the wooden step facing the side walk. fits nicely, very strong. stays put pretty good. the only improvement would be if the back of it had non slip surface. i think it is ment to be glued to the surface. 2 small screws would work as well. I think the place we put it may not be the intended type of step. We pick it due to the strong construction, color, and length. very nice product.

Very rugged product. Installed it before just winter and it's holding up well under ice and snow. It's used on a much used exterior flight of steps at a commercial building by employees. Appears to be a very safe product and is holding up well in the below freezing temps.

ComposiGrip Stair Tread
My husband and I had both had slips on our wooden deck and basement stairs. Too scary when you're getting older, didn't want to break an ankle or worse! We saw this product advertised on Home Depot and thought we'd give it a shot. Test run on our one set of deck stairs. ComposiGrip is truly amazing! Even with freezing rain that we've experienced this winter, we could easily break away the ice using the back of a push broom and even our boot heals. The traction is great. And yes, you guessed it, we now have every deck stair covered AND our basement stairs too. Thank you for introducing this won

Exactly how its described
Used it as a threshold for my garden shed door. It worked really well. It was easy to cut to size using a hacksaw. The colour was the same as the picture on the website. The diamond pattern is high enough to prevent any slipping of the feet so I would definitely think it would be perfect for stairs (which is what it's intended purpose is.)

Great product though I didn't use it
The tread cover is a good non-slip surface. I needed something to cover a outdoor concrete step edge that got broken to the rebar across the step edge, so it was missing a good 2-3" of concrete. Though this material is sturdy, it's not sturdy enough to replace the front of a step. I would use this however for the other steps that are missing chips or bits from the front edge. Installing is a simple enough process, involving drilling (3) holes for each step cover into the concrete to attach.

Purchased these for my wooden stairs that allow for entry and exit to the lake. The last few steps are underwater and the wood steps were covered with algae and very slippery. These installed over the wooden step and fit perfectly. They've been installed a few weeks and they are not slippery at all. I would recommend.

Very good product
We replaced the wood front porch this summer and stained it and it looked great. The first time moisture froze on it our nice smooth steps became very slick with ice. I installed this product on all of the steps and it looks great. Ready for winter now. I used screws apposed to construction adhesive as directed to affix to my wooden steps. Very rigid surface, my wife went up the steps in just sox and it was a little painful.

Pricey for what you get
I was expecting something a little more "robust" for the price. These are very thin, very rigid material. Installation (with screws onto new cedar steps) was easy. Will see how they survive through a hard southern Ontario winter. Pricey, IMO, for what you get.
